According to the new notification 21/2017 / TT-BCT, the formaldehyde content in textiles is limited to the following: Upper limit of formaldehyde content of textiles for children under 3 years old is 30 mg / kg; Textiles with direct skin contact is 75 mg / kg; Formaldehyde content in textiles in direct contact with the skin is limited to 300 mg / kg. Exemptions are also granted for certain textiles, including overseas visitor entitlements temporarily entering Vietnam, imported textiles for re-export, bonded warehouse goods, trans-shipment cargoes, Dyed or unbleached textiles or fabrics. At the same time, the upper limit for aromatic amines converts from azo dyes in all textiles is 30 mg / kg. The new standard will come into effect on May 1, 2018.
